Part of my trip down to the D23 Expo was to head to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure to check out some new excitement there (like Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!).

I know, I know… tough job right?

One of the big deals right now is Summer of Heroes at Disney’s California Adventure and THE reason to get that Park Hopper pass when you buy your tickets. But it’s only here until September 10, 2017 so you better hurry! It’s all totally Marvel-themed for the comic book geeks out there who need to get their Thor fix. Or Hawkeye. Or whoever floats your boat…

The highlight of Summer of Heroes is the new ride Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! which took over Tower of Terrors. I will admit I hadn’t ever been on Tower of Terrors, I just never got the chance…

So although I knew Mission Breakout! was a drop-ride, I didn’t know how terrifying it would be. I can see how it can be loved though – the Guardians vignettes are fantastic (hell-oooo Star-Lord), and the entrance itself is enough to make every fan excited. My favorite part was Rocket’s cameo in The Collector’s office. The Imagineers at Disney are definitely masters of their craft.

So ride it – if you dare! Here’s a pic of out Disney ride pic. Yep, that’s me in the corner trying not to vomit. But I swear I was smiling under that hand!

More Summer of Heroes fun includes:

Awesome Dance-Off!

Star-Lord and Gamora power up a rousing dance off, backed by rock and roll classics from Peter Quill’s beloved boom box. Show your dance skills to the thumping beat of legendary tracks and see how your moves compare to Star-Lord’s moves. Once the party heats up, keep an eye out for Groot, who likes to arrive fashionably late. You’ll have plenty of time to see him though because he’ll “stick” around as the party winds down. Check the daily schedule for times.

Grootbread is sold just outside of Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout and is as yummy as it is cute! Also available are Spiderman donuts and other Marvel-ous treats.

In this live show, you can cheer on aspiring young Super Heroes as they are led through a series of activities to measure their readiness to join the Avengers. Young recruits ages 6 to 12 participate in the show along with Black Widow and Hawkeye―and just may find themselves Avenger trainees. Darn, I just missed the age limit….

So don’t forget – it’s only around under September 10, 2017 so you’d better run and experience it now!
