Thank you to Cirque du Soleil partners for providing tickets to my family and I. All opinions are my own. 

I have always been a fan of Cirque du Soleil shows and have been to several performances (most recently Kurios), but this is the first Cirque du Soleil that is performed on ice. I know what you are thinking – it sounds similar to shows such as Ice Capades and Disney on Ice; Cirque du Soleil: CRYSTAL  it is vastly different.

Cirque Du Soleil: Crystal Is Magic On Ice

Crystal is a bored young girl who has a wild imagination and a thirst for finding new and beautiful things to experience. The show began when the lead character softly ice skating on a lake to soothing music. All of the sudden the ice begins to split, sending her into the cold abyss below and as she is falling she reflects on her life and imagines fantastical vignettes within.

I loved that she show was different. The performers had a lot of ground to cover at Moda Center and were able to truly make it a frozen playground (sometimes literally with swing sets and ramps to jump from). My favorite number of the night was Chandelier, a quiet reflection of life and beauty suspended from a swing where our lead did some beautiful trapeze combinations.
