Cinnamon sugar donuts are an American staple when it comes to sweet breakfasts and delicious desserts.

I have come up with the idea to make a decadent breakfast loaf inspired by this amazing taste, and the end result is so stunning that from now on, I will have this recipe for breakfast at least once a week.

You will feel the sweet cinnamon flavor in every bite, and the crunch on top comes from the granulated sugar for a perfect texture.

This loaf is so easy to assemble because you just need a large mixing bowl and a wire whisk. Then, transfer the batter into a prepared loaf pan and cook in a preheated oven. Enjoy!

  • Canola oil
  • Unsalted butter softened
  • 1 C sugar
  • 2 large eggs room temp
  • Vanilla
  • Flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Buttermilk
  • Cinnamon
  • Molasses

Coating Ingredients:

  • Unsalted butter melted
  • Sugar
  • Brown sugar packed
  • Cinnamon

How to make Cinnamon Sugar Donut Bread:

Step 1. First, preheat the oven to 350 F or 180 C degrees and grease a loaf tin with butter or line it with a piece of parchment paper. 

Step 2. Mix the oil, butter, and sugar in a large mixing bowl until combined. 

Step 3. Stir in the eggs and vanilla and mix. 

Step 4. Gently add the dry ingredients alongside the buttermilk. 

Step 5. Remove ½ cup of the batter, and in it, stir in the cinnamon and molasses. Mix until combined. 

Step 6. Scoop half of the bread batter and spoon half of the cinnamon mixture, top with the remaining bread butter, and add the other half. 

Step 7. With the help of a knife, make swirl moves to make a great pattern. 

Step 8. Bake for about 40 minutes. 

Step 9. Pour the melted butter into a large plate and dip every side of the bread. 

Step 10. Mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon well and coat the sides with it. 

Step 11. Serve and enjoy when chilled well.

Yes, You can make it up to 2 days in advance, and you can always freeze it for up to 3 months and serve it whenever you crave a decadent dessert. 

Storage instructions:

Store at room temperature for up to 2 days; you can freeze it for up to 3 months. Make sure to freeze it in slices because you can serve as much as you want before defrosting. 

Variations and substitutes:

You can add some chopped walnuts to the batter and bake everything together. Maple syrup or honey will work too.
