I’ve been on the hunt for a dessert that won’t take all of my PointsPlus allowance for the day, but it’s been a bit difficult to find one that is both low points and amazing. This Black Forest Ice Cream Sundae not only hits the spot, it has very few calories!

I was going to make my own waffle cones for this sundae, but the recipe I followed was absolutely terrible, and a sugar cone only has 1 PointsPlus, so I figured less work… less points… yeah, I’ll take it.

Black Forest Ice Cream Sundae – 4 Pointsplus

To make your Black Forest Ice Cream Sundae, you’ll need just a tiny amount of the above ingredients (about a tablespoon at a time, layering twice). Omit the sugar cone and put the sundae in a bowl to save a point, making the total for this recipe 3 PointsPlus.

I layered the cherries, ice cream, and whipped cream which was a great combination. The layering made the items spread out a bit, meaning you consume less calories/points. The sweet, tarty flavor of the Lucky Leaf cherry pie filling complimented the chocolate ice cream and whipped cream well. The richness of the entire sundae tricks your body into thinking you’re eating a full fat, unhealthy dessert – so it will kill any type of craving you’re dealing with!

This is a single serve recipe, but you can make enough to serve an entire party if you have even half of a container of ice cream.
