Cheese potato and smoked sausage casserole
Ingredients
- 3 C. Potatoes cut into chunks and boiled
- 4 Tbsp. Butter
- 4 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
- 2 C. Milk
- ¼ tsp. Black pepper
- ½ tsp. Salt
- ½ lb. gouda cheese shredded
- ½ C. Shredded gouda cheese
- 1 lb. Smoked sausage cut in half lengthwise and then cut into slices
- ⅛ tsp. Paprika
Instructions
- First, preheat your oven to 350 F or 180 C degrees.
- In a well-greased 9x13-inch baking dish, mix the boiled potatoes and sliced sausage.
- Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk in the flour. Saute for 1 minute and stir in the milk until smooth and thickened. Whisk constantly.
- Season with salt, pepper, and ½ lb of grated cheese in the saucepan. Stir until the cheese is completely melted.
- Pour the cheesy sauce over the sausages and potatoes and mix until combined.
- Sprinkle with the rest of the grated cheese on top and some paprika.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes.
- Let it cool slightly for at least 10 minutes before serving.
