First, in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat, cook the bacon and set aside to cool down. 

In the same skillet, cook the diced onion until it’s softened. 

Stir in the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds. 

Stir in the cabbage to the pot and cover to cook for about 20 minutes. The cabbage will simmer and will release all of its flavors.
