It’s officially back to school – My kids went back today! I swear we are probably the last area in the country to go back but I am okay with it – it just means I get to have my kids with me for just a little longer. We have had a great summer and we are celebrating! I don’t know about you, but I am not quite ready for fall weather. So in order to drag summer out for as long as possible we are doing these 5 things..
5 Ways to Celebrate the End of Summer
Play in the Sprinklers
Because why not? Sprinklers are there not only to water the grass on a hot day, they are there to jump in and out of.
Sleep Under the Stars
Grab that tent you’ve had in the garage and pitch it in the backyard. Instead of looking at screens and tablets take a look at the stars and find constellations. Tell ghost stories. Roast marshmallows. Enjoy the cool breeze of the evening.
Draw on the sidewalk
I love grabbing some chalk and drawing on the sidewalk with the kids. Summertime means the rain isn’t going to wash our beautiful creations away and we can enjoy them for as long as we can.
Movie Night
Pick your favorite movie and spend the evening with those sundaes you made watching it with the family. There are lots of classics out from when we were younger that kids will just love!
Make Ice Cream Sundaes
Run to Safeway and get all the fixings for a perfect ice cream sundae – I’m talking hot fudge, sprinkles, cherries, and of course some Breyers. In fact, right now is the best time to stock up on all your favorite Unilever frozen treats like Breyers- when you spend $20 on Unilever ice cream brands, you’ll receive a $5 digital reward
- Take a photo of your receipt and upload it to icecreamrewards.com to receive your $5 reward.
- Purchases must be made between 5/1/2017 to 9/30/2017.
It’s that easy.
