Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners
Using a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda.
Using a large bowl, beat the sugar, applesauce, eggs and oil until frothy.
Alternating between the mashed banana and dry ingredients, gradually beat the two together until combined
Fold in the chocolate chips and walnuts.
Spoon the batter into the cups, filling each about two-thirds full.
Bake for 20-25 minutes or until light golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean
Remove from the cups and cool completely on a rack.
