French Onion Soup Salisbury Steak

Salisbury steaks have stood the test of time and are just as popular now as they were decades ago. This steak alternative is juicy and delicious, and the French onion sauce is so good.

Ingredients

  • pounds extra-lean ground beef
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons Half & Half
  • 2- ounce package of onion soup mix
  • 10½ ounces canned French onion soup

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  • Mix the ground beef with the Half & Half and onion soup mixture using your hands.
  • Shape the beef mixture into 6 oval-shaped patties.
  • Dredge them in flour.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet and sear the beef patties for about 3 minutes, then flip and sear the other side.
  • Take the patties out of the pan and discard the grease.
  • Put the patties back in there and pour the soup over the top.
  • Don’t dilute the soup first.
  • Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, then serve hot.
