Cheese potato and smoked sausage casserole
The recipe is full of flavour, rich in taste, and it’s so easy to put together. Use your leftover boiled potatoes.
- 3 C. Potatoes cut into chunks and boiled
- 4 Tbsp. Butter
- 4 Tbsp. All-purpose flour
- 2 C. Milk
- ¼ tsp. Black pepper
- ½ tsp. Salt
- ½ lb. gouda cheese shredded
- ½ C. Shredded gouda cheese
- 1 lb. Smoked sausage cut in half lengthwise and then cut into slices
- ⅛ tsp. Paprika
First, preheat your oven to 350 F or 180 C degrees.
In a well-greased 9x13-inch baking dish, mix the boiled potatoes and sliced sausage.
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and whisk in the flour. Saute for 1 minute and stir in the milk until smooth and thickened. Whisk constantly.
Season with salt, pepper, and ½ lb of grated cheese in the saucepan. Stir until the cheese is completely melted.
Pour the cheesy sauce over the sausages and potatoes and mix until combined.
Sprinkle with the rest of the grated cheese on top and some paprika.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Let it cool slightly for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Enjoy.
