Great Northern Beans in the Crockpot
If you are a big fan of baked beans, this recipe finds you well. Not only will this recipe require 5 minutes to dump everything in a crockpot, but it also brings the best flavours from the North. Because it is prepared in a crockpot, this recipe will save you a lot of time, and you won’t spend hours in the kitchen making something delicious, easy, and mouthwatering.
- ⅓ cup Granulated Sugar
- 1 Onion Chopped
- 1 ½ lb. Smoked Ham Hocks
- 1 lb. Great Northern Beans
- Salt and pepper to taste
First, place the beans into the bottom of the crockpot and add in the diced onion, ham hocks, and granulated sugar.
Cover the beans in about 2 inches of water.
Cook on high for 2 hours.
Reduce the heat to low and cook for additional 4-5 hours on low.
Remove the ham hocks from the crockpot, shred off the meat and return the ham meat to the crockpot with the beans.
Serve and enjoy.
