German Chocolate Poke Cake

Ingredients
  

FOR THE CAKE:

  • 1 box dark chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 1 box chocolate fudge instant pudding 3.4 oz box
  • 4 eggs large
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 3/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

FOR THE FILLING:

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz can

FOR THE GANACHE:

  • 4 oz chocolate chopped
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

FOR THE FROSTING:

  • 1 can coconut pecan frosting

Instructions
 

  • First, preheat your oven to 350 F or 180 C degrees. Line a 9x13 baking tray with baking paper or spray it with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • Combine the cake mix, pudding, eggs, yogurt, vegetable oil, milk, vanilla, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Mix until everything is combined, and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  • Remove from the oven and poke the cake several times with a wooden spoon.
  • Pour the sweetened condensed milk all over the cake and allow it to soak into the holes.
  • Mix the chocolate and cream in a bowl and microwave until melted and glossy. Spread the coconut and pecan frosting on the cake and smooth it with a spatula.
  • Pour the chocolate ganache all over the cake and smooth it out.
  • Let the cake set in the fridge for 2-3 hours, and cut slices.
  • Enjoy.
