“A single toothbrush can harbor millions of microorganisms, which translate into harmful bacteria — bacteria that thrive in the warm, moist environment of the average bathroom. VIOlight stops these microorganisms dead in their track. Independent studies prove that the patent-pending VIOlight system eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria that thrive on your toothbrush. That’s millions of microscopic bugs that can cause flu, colds and other illnesses, zapped in minutes!”

I will admit I am a bit of a germiphobe. I have issues with cleanliness. I can spend hours scrubbing my kitchen and my bathroom (as the twins allow). So imagine my giddy excitement when I got the opportunity to review the VIOlight ZapiPop Za-Za Zapi Toothbrush Sanitizer!
First – he’s so CUTE!!! I love him (see how already call it “him”? I even named him Reggie).
Second – uhh, get rid of 99% of those germs on my toothbrush? YES PLEASE! Researchers have found more than 10,000,000 bacteria living on a single toothbrush. Have I grossed you out yet? Read HERE for more um, information…
“VIOlight uses a germicidal UV bulb — the same technology used in hospitals — to kill germs. A blue-violet glow lets you know the sanitizer is working. The entire process takes minutes. When finished, the bulb automatically shuts off and your toothbrush is fresh, clean, and protected for the next time you brush!”
So on a side note – My husband has been sick on and off for the last month. He’s had strep, bronchitis, and stomach flu. Now, all of you moms of young children out there know that you just don’t have time to get sick, right? I don’t know if VIOlight has anything to do with it but I haven’t gotten sick yet. I really do attribute that to less germs going straight into my mouth. My twins are thankful for that 🙂
I can see the Za-Za Zapi being a great tool to use for getting kids to brush their teeth. My twins are still too young to brush their teeth on their own (I have to do it for them), but I think it would be fun for children to put the toothbrush in and hit that little button. Kids love science 🙂
The only issue I have with my VIOlight is that my battery-operated toothbrush is too heavy for it and it won’t sit up straight. But that’s not a biggie. the head still fits nicely into it and cleans 🙂
AND I think I need to get this one too:
And for those of you who would rather have something a bit sleeker:
