Earlier this week I was privileged to visit the latest in shopping experiences at Washington Square in Tigard, Oregon. The company that makes these innovative “pop-up” shops in the middle of shopping centers in select states is called WithMe. Cross between brick-and-mortar and kiosk stores, WithMe allows retail businesses such as SandiLake Clothing to test out having a shop of their own for a while before committing to a years-long (and expensive) lease.

WithMe also utilizes the latest technology in shopping – fitting room equipped with a scanning mirror system that allows the shopper to request more sizes and styles without having to find an employee to help. Shoppers simply scan the item they need in a different size right on the mirror and the sales associate is notified digitally. To top it off shoppers don’t even have to wait in line – checking out it easy and automated and can even have items shipped to the home or work instead. All with a couple of clicks.

SandiLake is a very cool screen-print clothing company you may know. Earlier this year Melissa Lay (founder) was featured on ABC’s Shark Tank. She spoke about a need for cool unisex clothing for kids with an edge to them. While she didn’t make a deal with the sharks, she DID garner national attention just for being on the show, which introduced a whole new client to her brand. As a result she has been able to expand her business to opportunities like WithMe. How cool is it that we can shop like this now and WithMe is giving entrepreneurs like Mel Lay an economical way to showcase their product?

Be sure to check out SandiLake Clothing at Washington Square along with RetroBrand and Lorna Jane. RetroBrand and Lorna Jane are near Macy’s and SandiLake is just across from See’s Candy. WithMe has other locations in New York, Chicago, DC, and Los Angeles. Head to https://with.me for details!
