A few weeks ago I got a Sabatier Self-Sharpening Edgekeeper Knife Block set sent to me courtesy of Sabatier. It was perfect timing because my husband recently received a knife set from another brand as a gift and it was, well, less than stellar. I had high hopes for this new set.

I wasn’t disappointed. This knife set is pretty much the best thing ever for someone like me.

Each primary slot features a built-in knife Ceramic sharpener that automatically hones the cutlery every time the knife is removed or placed back into the block, keeping blades cutting like new every single time. This is amazing for me because one of my biggest pet peeves when cooking are dull blades. I mean, is it too much to ask to be able to slice a tomato without squishing it? I don’t even mind that they are hand wash only, it just makes me take care of them that much better.

More info:

  • This 12-piece set includes an 8-inch chef knife, 8-inch slicer knife, 5-inch chef knife with kullens, 4.5-inch fine edge utility, 3.5-inch paring knife, (6) 4.5-inch steak knives and a storage block
  • Each knife is made from high-carbon stainless steel which is stain and corrosion resistant
  • The block is made from natural hardwood with a matte black finish

I can see this knife block set as something my mom or mother in law would just love. Or my sister. Or my brother. Really – anyone who enjoys cooking even a little bit would love this set.

Since I love this Sabatier set so much you will probably see it a lot in my recipe posts and videos so keep an eye out for that little “easter egg”.

Sidenote – the Food Huggers you see in the pics above? Pretty cool for keeping your fruits and veggies fresh longer than plastic bags. They are made of silicone and come in several sizes so no food goes wasted. And at $19.95 they are a great easy gift or stocking stuffer.

Find these on Amazon and Bed Bath & Beyond along with other top retailers!

*I received these items in order to add them to my Gift Guide and review them. All opinions are 100% my own.
