Missing Link is in theaters April 12, 2019 Living in the backyard (well, less than 6 miles away from) of Laika Studios, I get excited when I see there's a new film from them. When Missing Link was announced last year I was so thrilled - it looks funny AND tugs at my PNW heartstrings by exploring one of our biggest mysteries here - Bigfoot. Related: My visit to Laika Studios and photos from the set of Kubo and the Two Strings Check out the NEW trailer for Missing Link, starring Hugh Jackman and Zack Galafianakis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r782SajIVU&feature=youtu.be This April, meet Mr. Link: 8 feet tall, 630 lbs, and covered in fur, but don't let his appearance fool you... he is funny, sweet, and adorably literal, making him the world's most lovable legend at the heart of Missing Link, the globe-trotting family adventure from LAIKA. Tired of living a solitary life in the Pacific Northwest, Mr. Link recruits fearless explorer Sir Lionel Frost to guide him on a journey to find his long-lost relatives in the fabled valley of Shangri-La. Along with adventurer Adelina Fortnight, our fearless trio of explorers encounter more than their fair share of peril as they travel to the far reaches of the world to help their new friend. Through it all, the three learn that sometimes you can find a family in the places you least expect. Missing Link is in theaters April 12, 2019

Let's do a frame-by-frame breakdown of the latest Game Day trailer for Avengers: Endgame in theaters April 26, 2019 We start with single frame flashes of the following characters: Hope Van Dyne (Wasp) Nick Fury Spider-Man Dr. Strange Falcon Scarlett Witch ALL of the Guardians of the Galaxy (in their jail uniforms from GotG1) T-Challa (Black Panther) Bucky Barnes (Winter Soldier) Vision Each frame is black and white except for spots of red. Blood red. The common thread with all of these characters with the exception of Rocket is that they were all dusted in Avengers: Infinity War. Okay, first second of the trailer down. Yes, it was all in one second. Next - the Marvel Studios logo getting dusted away like the previous trailer. Flash of the Manhattan skyline. Everything seems to happen in New York, doesn't it? It's dark, gloomy, blue haze looks incredibly sinister. Broken down boats and ships have all settled into the bay around the Statue of Liberty. It's obvious that Thanos' snappening made a global impact. It looks like a new cold era for the world. Citifield is abandoned. The cars in the parking lot mimic the boats in the previous frame. "Some people..." Now there's a room that looks like an official building. A poster reads "Where Do We Go, Now That They're Gone?" Four people are sitting in the background looking as though they are having some sort of meeting or support group. "...move on" The voice over seems to answer the question posed on the poster. Captain America appears. He's clean shaven, dressed in civilian clothing, and in my opinion looking a little thin. It's assumed he's one of the ones seated. He's contemplating and reacting as though he agrees with what was said, but with apprehension. This looks like a support group of some sort and the ones seated (and blurred) are definitely NOT Avengers, but Cap is definitely in that same room (see the stacked chairs), so it's assumed he's one of the blurred characters. "But not us..."  Next frame - Tony Stark and Nebula frantically doing some metal work, assuming they are fixing the Benatar. It looks like Nebula is pulling parts from her arm? Now we have Captain America, Bruce Banner, Black Widow, and War Machine walking outside of the Avengers HQ looking up into the night sky in astonishment. My guess is they see The Benatar, the ship that Tony and Nebula are on. Rocket bursts through a doorway that looks very much like the door to Thanos' new digs. I don't know, but it's probably not Earth. Black Widow is doing to gun target practice with a look of determination. Man, she looks pissed. Next Ant-man and War Machine suiting up at the Avenger's headquarters. They also look pissed. Thor looking at something intently. Wait - is that Dr. Strange at Thanos' home??? Is he holding an umbrella?? No, it's probably Thor with the Stormbreaker, but it had me doing a doubletake. It looks like he's in Wakanda. Ahh Hawkeye, there you are. The red light on his face mimics the red accents in the first second of the trailer. Foreshadowing? I should note it appears that he is in some sort of forest, definitely not in Tokyo like before. Captain America's hand shakes as he straps on his shield. Dang. Stark black screen. For impact, natch... Now we see the dawn of a new day as Captain America, Ant-Man, Black Widow, Rocket, Bruce, and War Machine go to presumably save the world. "Not us." Honestly the voice sounds like Tony Stark to me. I'd love to hear your thoughts - sound off in the comments! https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=0&v=-iFq6IcAxBc See Avengers: Endgame in theaters everywhere April 26, 2019

*Thank you to The Lash Lounge Portland for providing me with lash extensions! Make an appointment online I had always wanted lash extensions. I have complained time and time again that after my twin pregnancy my lashes were never the same. See, when many women have issues with the hair on their head getting sparse during pregnancy, my lashes were the problem. So things like several coats of mascara and fake lashes have been a regular thing with me ever since. When I saw my friend Pickett get some gorgeous lashes done from The Lash Lounge I was intrigued. I had been following them on Instagram for a while and kept thinking about it, so I decided to bite the bullet and contact the owner.   When I arrived to my appointment the entire place was clean, pleasant, and have a very comfortable atmosphere. I met with Hannah (affectionately now known as the lash miracle worker) and went over what to expect. 2 hours later I looked refreshed and dare I say happier? It's amazing what lashes can do for a RBF (resting b*tch face)! What to Expect When Getting Lashes For the First Time Before and during your appointment DO: Arrive at your appointment a few minutes early, there will be paperwork for you to sign and your lash expert will will go over looks, as no eye is the same and no lash pattern is the same. Expect to be there for 2 hours. Bring some headphones and listen to your favorite podcast or take a lash nap! Put your phone on silent and enjoy your time of pampering! Ask questions. Your lash expert will be able to talk to you about your lash health, care for your new extensions, and best products to use for maintaining. Do tip your lash expert. She (or he) is providing a luxury experience, just like at a hair salon. DON'T: Don't wear contact lenses. If you are wearing them you will be provided with saline to put store them, or you can bring your lens case. Don't drink coffee/water/etc. You will want to avoid having to use the bathroom the entire time you are there. Don't wear mascara if you can at all help it. Your lash expert will make sure your lashes are clean but coming in with a blank slate will help the process go that much smoother. After your appointment DO: Do use an oil and alcohol-free cleanser for the life of your lashes. This will help them last longer. Do expect to lose about 20% per week. Naturally we lose that much of our own lashes. Do make a followup appointment for 2 weeks to a month following your lash extension application. DON'T: Don't get your lashes wet for at least 8 hours. No shower, no washing your face. Take your makeup off with remove wipes and avoid the eyes. Don't wear mascara. If you do make sure it's a light coat! Don't rub your eyes too vigorously. I gently cleanse with Cetaphil since it's oil free. Any left over residue comes off in the shower. Pat your lashes dry and gently brush them with a spoolie to maintain their shape. Following these tips will help your lash extension experience be a positive one! Lash Lounge Instagram

If you are a reader of my site you will know I am an avid Disney fan and often work with them on film releases. It's a tough job, but someone has to do it! Buy Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms today Most recently I was in Los Angeles for the world premiere of Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. It was visually stunning, with a definite highlight of prima ballerina Misty Copeland in not one but two dances in the film. Now that the Blu-ray is available everywhere, you can her from Copeland herself on what it was like to be a part of the film and dance  such an iconic performance. You can also see my interview with Misty Copeland here on my site. Related: Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Review The Nutcracker and the Four Realms Blu-ray About the film: All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer’s (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key—which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It’s there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara’s key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world. Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” is directed by Lasse Hallström and Joe Johnston, and inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale. Bonus features include*: BLU-RAY: On Pointe: A Conversation with Misty Copeland – Copeland shares the thrill of portraying one of her favorite characters in a whole new way. Unwrapping “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” – Dive into the production design, sets, costumes and more that helped transform a beloved ballet into an adventurous movie. Deleted Scenes – o The Stahlbaums Arrive- As the Stahlbaums enter the Christmas Eve ball, the butler attempts to announce them to the assembled guests. o Follow Your Ribbon- Drosselmeyer encourages a reluctant Clara to go find her gift. o Deleted Scene: Clara Asks About Her Mother- Sugar Plum gives Clara a tour of her mother’s bedroom. o Left, Left, Left, Left, Left- Wandering lost in the forest, palace guards Cavalier and Harlequin quarrel about which way to go. o Out with the Old- Sugar Plum makes sweeping changes to the palace decor. Music Videos – “ o “Fall on Me” Performed by Andrea Bocelli Featuring Matteo Bocelli- Experience superstar tenor Andrea Bocelli and his son Matteo Bocelli performing their first duet together in this uplifting song. o “The Nutcracker Suite” Performed by Lang Lang- Get swept up in a series of images from the movie, set to Tchaikovsky’s music and featuring world-renowned pianist Lang Lang.

While in LA last year for the red carpet of Disney's The Nutcracker and the Four Realms I also had a chance to meet with three of my favorite Dancing with the Stars dancers - pros and “Dancing with the Stars: Juniors” mentors Brandon Armstrong, Alan Bersten and Gleb Savchenko. Funny thing is - these three were knee-deep in DWTS: Juniors at the time we met with them. I think we still had a solid 3 or 4 weeks left until the finale - and all three of them made it to the finals. Alan Bersten ultimately won with his team of Sky Brown and JT Church (and the killed it!). You can read more about what we talked about here, but this post is all about the dance we learned! I will admit I was incredibly nervous. I am a terrible dancer. I have zero rhythm, my balance sucks, and I just can move smoothly. Luckily my pro team was patient and encouraging so it was a lot of fun. I seriously had nothing to worry about.  We were sectioned off into three separate teams. I was lucky enough to be partnered with Gleb Savchenko, who along with wife and fellow dancer Elena Samodanova  owns the studio we practiced in.  His calm yet excited demeanor was contagious and made my team and I relaxed and have fun with it.    My team consisted of: Sylvia of Mama Latina Tips Shelby of OC Mom Blog Heidi of The Bragging Mommy Jessica of The Healthy Mouse Debra of Finding Debra Coralie of Lovebugs and Postcards Shell of Not Quite Susie Homemaker TerriAnn of Cookies and Clogs I have to say we did pretty darn good. Check it out: I loved that it was not only fairly easy to perform, it was so much fun! I felt like my own version of The Ballerina Princess in The Nutcracker and the Four Realms. Actually I felt more like an extra in the background of the ballroom scene but STILL it was a lot of fun.  Speaking of The Nutcracker and the Four Realms... You can get your own copy of the film on January 29th 2019! I will have more on the details of this visually stunning film's home release, so stay tuned for that! Thank you to Disney Studios for sending me to cover these events. All opinions are my own.

It's about time cats were represented in the entertainment industry. Goose, Carol Danver's cat (possibly alien cat) has his own poster for Marvel's Captain Marvel, in theaters March 8th, 2019. Not since Mr. Jinx in Meet the Parents have we been so thrilled about having a feline star in a highly anticipated movie. Cat-Woman doesn't count. Now we need to wonder exactly how much of an impact Goose has on Carol's story. We are all rooting for you Goose!  Oh yeah, there are other character posters too. And yes those are pretty cool but not as cool as Goose! Although Brie Larson looks pretty bad-ass and iconic.  Set in the 1990s, Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN MARVEL is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe that follows the journey of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes. While a galactic war between two alien races reaches Earth, Danvers finds herself and a small cadre of allies at the center of the maelstrom. The film stars Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Djimon Hounsou, Lee Pace, Lashana Lynch, Gemma Chan, Rune Temte, Algenis Perez Soto, Mckenna Grace, with Annette Bening, with Clark Gregg, and Jude Law. Marvel Studios’ CAPTAIN MARVEL is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Jonathan Schwartz, Patricia Whitcher and Stan Lee are the executive producers. The story is by Nicole Perlman and Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse, and the screenplay is by Anna Boden & Ryan Fleck and Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1BCujX3pw8

While in Rockaway Beach for Vacasa, my husband and I realized that Tillamook was just a short coastal drive away from our vacation home. Although we only live about an hour away from the Oregon landmark we rarely head over there for one reason or another. We are so glad we decided to head over to the Tillamook Creamery (locally known as the Tillamook Cheese Factory) and see the newly remodeled visitors center to have some lunch and do the free tour.  Walking up it was obvious the facilities were overhauled - instead of the original stucco-style we were greeted with a huge mural of an adorable cow flanked with warm wood paneling. It was so inviting.  Walking into the building was like walking into a modernized lodge - again warm wood accents, huge images of beautifully shot products, and information about the famous creamery everywhere. Gone was the cafeteria feel and here was a large but quaint dining center and podiums in case you want stand. From lunch we headed upstairs for the self guided tour. There's a new interactive area for kids where they can feed a baby calf and milk an adult cow. All fake, of course, but it's fun to pretend! They can also learn about how the cows well the cows are taken care of.  Then we went to the viewing area where we got to see the cheese made, sliced, packaged, and boxed to send out. We have almost exclusively purchased Tillamook cheese so it was fun to see the process. At the end of the tour was a tasting area. We spent a lot of time here....  Then it was time for ice cream! The flavors rotate based on the season, but they will always have your favorite flavors ready for you when you have a craving for something cold and sweet. Tillamook Creamery is located at 4165 Highway 101 North in Tillamook Oregon. The creamery is open 8am-6pm every day of the week and stay open until 8pm mid-June through early November for those evening ice cream outings.  *this post is NOT sponsored and based on my personal experience
