One of my favorite parts about fall and heading into the holidays? THE FOOD! I love baking and creating. And anyone who knows me knows that I will also add bacon to just about anything. Popcorn Balls are no exception.

As a Good Cook Ambassador I get the privilege of trying out some super fabulous products and showing you my creations. Good Cook sent me this awesome set of supplies to make popcorn balls!

I was excited to get to work – here’s what I did and how I did it!

Bacon Caramel Popcorn Balls

You will need:

  • a bag of popped microwave popcorn (Jiffy Pop is awesome!)
  • 1/2lb bacon
  • cooking spray
  • bag of caramels (I like Kraft)
  • supplies above


Cut the bacon up into small pieces and cook, then drain. Set aside. Melt caramels in saucepan on LOW-MED using the candy thermometer. Your temp should reach about 250 degrees – higher than that may burn your caramel.as this is cooking, pour popcorn into stainless steel bowl and remove unpopped kernels. mix drained bacon in with popcorn well. When caramel is melted, pour into popcorn/bacon mixture and quickly mix as the caramel will start cooling right away. Spray popcorn baller with cooking spray. Take a softball- sized lump of popcorn mixture and push it into the mold – if you think you are overfilling add a little bit more! Use the top of the baller to push the popcorn together tightly and release. Place in party bowl to cool.

To eat:

you can cut it into pieces, smash it with a hammer, or just bite in! Enjoy!
