Hidden Pirate Treasure Sandbox Review

When I bought my house last year I went from no backyard (a small patio balcony at my apartment) to a HUGE backyard. The nice thing about this big backyard is that it is a clean slate – all that’s back there is a patio slab, a big tree, a little tree, and lots & lots of grass (and weeds, but that’s for another post).

Since my twins turned 3 this year I just knew they would need some backyard goodies. They now have a swing set, a climbing structure, a tent, a water table, a seesaw… you get the picture. I more or less went a bit overboard. Or so I thought….

There was one thing missing. One item that every kid should have. The sandbox. So when Little Tikes sent me the Hidden Pirate Treasure Sandbox I knew my backyard jungle would be complete.

  • Has four molded seats that make it easy for multiple kids to play and promote social skills.
  • The bottom is molded with treasures and a map for jewel and coin find fun!
  • Domed lid protects sand from debris
  • Holds up to 300lbs. of sand

Seeing as my twins are really *really* into pirates, this was a perfect sandbox for them. I went to the home improvement store and bought 300 pounds of sand (boy was my car sad on the way home!) and filled it up. *TIP – add cinnamon to the sand and bugs will stay away! Thanks Joanna for that one 🙂

The kids have been having a BLAST with their new sandbox. Every single time they go outside the first place they head is their pirate sandbox, digging for treasure and making castles.

The Hidden Pirate Treasure Sandbox was exactly what I needed for the backyard. The twins totally agree too!

Little Tikes has other sandboxes and outdoor toys available – including the award winning Turtle Sandbox! Your kids will get hours and years out of their Little Tikes outdoor toys since they are weather-resistant. Be sure to check them all out!
