How To Ruin A Romantic Meal in Ten Easy Steps (But Save the Cake) With Nestle & Walmart #Valentines4All #Shop #Cbias
Valentine’s Day is coming up! Thanks to Nestle & Walmart, I am going to show you how to make a romantic meal for two. And what 3 year old twins do to run their sticky little hands all over it…
Head over to Walmart and get some Buitoni Pasta. Nothing says lovin’ like pasta and red sauce. You will find it in the deli section – since Buitoni is fresh, it won’t bee in the packaged or canned aisle. There are several meat and vegetarian selections – I bought Herb Chicken Tortellini and Marinara Sauce. Nothing but the best for my man!
While you are at it, get the NEW Nestle La Lechera Tres Leches cake kit. You will also need some whole milk, eggs, and canola oil for it. Find it in the baking aisle.
*sidenote – I had NO idea what Tres Leches cake was until I got the kit. Basically it’s white cake soaked in 3 different kinds of milk mixed together: evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and whole milk. YUM! I asked my husband if he knew what it was and he knew exactly. How is it that I didn’t know?!?!
Make the cake the day before your hot date, since it needs to sit in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Spoon and swirl sweetened whipped cream all over it. Slather it.
Get those kiddos snug in their bed before they even get a glimpse of the Nestle Tres Leches Cake. If they catch a glimpse of that cakey/milky goodness it’s all over. Trust me on this.
Start boiling the Buitoni Pasta and allow the Buitoni sauce to simmer in a saucepan. Put the kids back to bed.
Transfer the pasta to a baking dish and pour the sauce over it. Pile on some yummy cheese. Bake at 375 for about 10 minutes or until the cheese bubbles. Read the kids one more story and bribe them with cookies for breakfast if they stay in bed.
Toss baby spinach, tomatoes, croutons, and chickpeas together with some of your favorite dressing. Threaten the kids with no cartoons tomorrow if they don’t go to bed. NOW.
Serve this delicious meal to your favorite Valentine. End up giving in and make two more plates of Buitoni with salad. Under NO circumstances take out the Nestle Tres Leches Cake you made just yet.
Get the kids back in bed and wait at least an hour after you think they are asleep to bring out the Tres Leches Cake.
Serve the cake in bed (because you are simply to tired to eat it at the dinner table) and don’t get up until the morning. Those dishes can wait!
