My kids are at an age where they want to be SUPERHEROES! Earlier this year I made them some super-capes. They wear them everywhere…

To make the armor, cute paper towel roll in half, then cut open. Punch alternating holes along the openings.Let your little one decorate them with stars, glitter, and anything else they can dream of. Thread the string through the holes to tie onto forearms.

Instant Superhero!

To make the capes I did you will need a yard or 2 of fabric, double fusing, a ribbon, and a sewing machine:

Measure your child from back of neck to the floor and cut out 2 rectangles the length of the measurement and 1/2 that length across. Cut out some fun super shapes and use double fusing to iron them to the front of the fabric. Use sewing machine to sew around the designs. Put the backs of the fabric together and sew along all edges but the top, leaving a little on either end of the top. Turn right side and iron flat. Thread the ribbon through those two openings at the top and gather so it will fit around your child’s neck. Pin the ribbon to the edges where they are coming out and sew along these, as well as the opening where you turned the fabric.

Hopefully you are crafty enough to understand the directions 🙂
