For over a decade, Angie Porter, a professional pet groomer, attempted to find a quality, invaluable tool to deal with dog shedding. After using every possible device in the industry, she realized such a tool didn’t exist, so she decided to develop it with her husband, David. Together, they created the first and only tool to safely, efficiently and comfortably remove a pet’s loose undercoat: the FURminator® deShedding Tool – the most popular, sought-after and beloved shedding solution on the market.

This is Dexter (and Riley). Ignore the look on his face for a moment – he often gets that look when Riley cuddles with him but I think he secretly enjoys it. What I want to point out about Dex is all of that FUR.

Having a long-haired cat means a ton of shedding. also means he is like many cats and lick-bathes himself. Which leads to hairballs. Not good for him, and pretty gross for me. So I am pretty pleased that the FURminator is a product that is very easily found in any pet store and gets his fur and shedding issues under control. YAY!

It did take him a bit to get used to the FURminator. Honestly? He hated it at first, but I think that’s because he just didn’t know what it was. After introducing the FURminator to him and using it once a day for a minute or two, he is starting to enjoy it. I am enjoying less fur on my rugs and furniture. Bonus!
