Did you know September is National Breakfast Month? One of my favorite things to do is have breakfast for dinner. Some call it “Brinner”, some call it Breakfast Night. I just call it delicious 🙂 My kids think it’s an extra special treat to have something like pancakes at the end of the day instead of the beginning. We’ve designated Wednesdays as Breakfast Night!

I love using Krusteaz products – they are incredibly easy to mix and there’s little mess left over to clean up. Krusteaz sent me a sampling of some of their hottest mixes plus a couple of fun things like a pancake flipper and squeeze bottles for fun designs:

My kids really got into helping me – I passed the mixing job over to Dylan and he LOVED it! Of course they always love helping me in the kitchen, so any chance I can give them I will.

Then I put the mix into the squeeze bottles and started taking requests at what they wanted. Dylan of course wanted LEGO guys. They were surprisingly easy to make!

I started with the blue and made the face as well as outlined the body, then I used yellow to fill it all in.

Dylan LOVED his LEGO guys! Riley chose to have me make her favorite thing – a kitty! She kept saying it looked like our cat Dexter, but I really think it was only because it had whiskers 😉

Having “brinner” has become a regular thing in our home. It’s a great way to get the kids interactive with their food and the preparation. Plus, here’s a little tip – buy sugar-free syrup instead of regular so you don’t get those sugar highs right before bed. (You are welcome!). I challenge you to make your Wednesdays “Breakfast Night” with me!

  1. When we make breakfast for dinner we usually have omelets or egg burritos, two things that we usually don’t have time to eat or prepare as a breakfast.
