The Hard Candy Company was founded by in 1995 by two sisters. Dineh & Pooneh Mohajerand Benjamin Einstein. The cosmetics company became an overnight sensation when Alicia Silverstone answered David Letterman’s question about the color of nail polish she was wearing & who made it. Originally sold in specialty stores such as Sephora, Hard Candy is now sold exclusively at WalMart.
Hard Candy sent me a set of makeup samples to review:
First off, I just LOVE the Blush Crush! I have been looking for something that was a little pink and luminous and Living Doll has that! The pink isn’t harsh, it’s very soft but still fun. Then there are the gold shimmers that just make me glow! I have pale skin (Irish!) and blushes tend to look harsh on me, but not this one!
The Ginormous Lash Mascara is great too! You know when you first get a mascara and you kind of have to “break it in” because the consistency isn’t quite right? I know I have to do that. And I also have to coat my lashes like crazy to get the length and fullness I want. I felt like Ginormous Lash was pretty much exactly what I needed. I usually go with black, but Mudslide is a great color! It softened my eyes just a teeny bit but still gave me vavoom lashes! and not with a million coats – I only did two!
Lastly the Kaleyedescope EyeShadow Duo. WOW is all I can say! The creamy white has an amazing dramatic shimmer to it, while the green was a bit more sheer, like a color wash. I love dotting a white shimmer in the inner corners of my eyes – makes my eyes look brighter and makes me look younger (always a plus!). This shadow was perfect because I didn’t need to layer it.
