I will admit it. I didn’t expect my son to be SO into Lincoln Logs.
He is part of the “digital generation” – the tablet users, video game players, and electronic toy players. Usually my son will turn his nose up at anything that doesn’t have batteries or bright colors/tied with some sort of cartoon or movie franchise.
Lincoln Logs give kids raw materials to help them develop their creativity and motor skills. Invented more than nine decades ago, these wooden building sets have a rich history of inspiring and entertaining children. The blocks are still made in the same manner as the early days, with real wood and a high-quality finish to keep the blocks in top shape for years to come. With more than 80 pieces, children ages three and up will enjoy building the multitude of structures they can create.

Of course he built structures like a house and a store (with my help), but then his imagination went further. He made a little car and pretended some short logs were people of the town. And he played for hours. I had to promise him that I would leave his buildings the way they were so that he could come home from school and go right back into his story.
If you like Lincoln Logs as much as we do be sure to VOTE for them as your favorite of The Goddard School Preschooler-Approved Top 10 Toys now through November 13.
