Every year I dread the school season for one main reason – GERMS. The kids often come home with a cold or flu at some point early in the school year. Although this year we have been lucky (knock on wood), I know from times past that I need to be 100% prepared, which is why I always – I mean ALWAYS – have medicine handy for them, and I rely on Children’s Advil, Dimetapp, and Robitussin to knock the sickies out.
Last year was rough when it came to getting sick. My daughter was out 7 days during the school year due to some sort of cold or flu. Last year she got a terrible flu. I remember being on the phone with her nurse when her temperature spiked to 102 degrees. The nurse told me to make sure she has Children’s Advil and a cool bath along with plenty of rest. I had to run out into the cold air to pick some up. I hated leaving her, even for 20 minutes. Sure enough her temperature dropped down and she was back on the mend.
This year I am not messing around – I have their cold and flu medicine in the first aid kit which I have with me always, just in case the sickies come back. I my little one to be happy, healthy and ready to karate chop those sick days away.
