You know those days where it seems like it just started badly and you can’t seem to get on track? I have those days – we all do! But I have learned a few good things to do to help me get going in a positive direction, so I am sharing them with you!
5 Ways to Start Your Day off Right!
1. Make a List
Most adults need at least 6 hours of continuous sleep to feel refreshed, with 8 hours the optimum time. I know your mind is going nuts with the day’s activities as well as the to-dos of the next day. I find it incredibly helpful to make a list of things I need to accomplish the following day. It makes me feel organized and therefore more relaxed, so I can get a good night’s rest.
2. Clean the Kitchen
Ever wake up, drag yourself to the kitchen, and find last night’s dishes in the sink? Know that feeling of dread? I know that if I wake up and my kitchen is clean it’s one less thing for me to deal with that morning.
3. Have Some Protein For Breakfast
Protein is one of the absolute most effective ways to start your day off with some good sustainable energy. My weapon of choice is Cheerios Protein. Protein has the essentials that help you keep your mood and energy up without the crash that caffeine and sugar can do (although that cup of coffee in the morning definitely helps!). I find that when I give my kids a bowl of Cheerios Protein with some whole milk it really gets them in the right frame of mind. They play and help out around the house without the lagging and complaining that they may do otherwise with a sugary breakfast. It’s a great feeling to know that your children are happier – protein in the morning will definitely help them and you get through to lunchtime! You can find Cheerios Protein at Walmart – definitely pick up a box!
4. Tell Yourself You Will Have a Good Day
I know, daily affirmations seem cheesy – but they work!! Tell yourself, your spouse, your kids “Today is going to be a good day”. And make that happen.
5. Get Up Before the Rest of the House Does
Trust me on this – BECOME A MORNING PERSON!! Waking up before everyone else gives you that quiet time to settle into your day and prepare for what lies ahead. You can get some work done, surf the ‘net, watch your favorite program and not be interuppted. Trust me, it’s bliss!!!
Hope these little tips help you to have a less stressful day! What do you do to get your day started right? Leave me a note in the comments below!
