There are 5 things I NEVER run out of. Why? Because they have such a wide variety of uses!

hydrogenp1. Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide is a FANTASTIC all purpose product. You can use it to whiten teeth or laundry, clean wounds, or even clean wax buildup in ears. Also makes a great vegetable cleaner – mix 1/3 cup with a sink full of cold water and let your veggies sit for 20-30 minutes. This will help get rid of wax and pesticides as well as prolong the life of your vegetables.

white_vinegar2. Vinegar

Vinegar is not only good in salad, but it also has great disinfectant qualities. Use it to safely clean mold off, kill ants, fleas, or spiders, and use it as a fabric softener by adding it in your laundry. Vinegar is also a perfect solution for spots and smudges on stainless steel appliances and sinks – NO streaks! If you are worried about the smell, don’t – once vinegar is dried it’s odor-free.

armhammer3. Baking Soda

Clean all of the drains in your house by pouring baking soda down, then pour some vinegar after it. The effervescent bubbling will make the drain fresh and give some sparkle to the chrome. Baking soda makes a great cleaner when just mixed with water for porcelain and fiberglass tubs and sinks. Also great for brushing your teeth!

rice24. Rice

Rice is a MUST for wet electronics – stick that soaked phone or MP3 player in a bag or bowl of rice and it will be dried out within 24 hours. You can also use rice for drying flowers and some fun crafts!

5. Lemons

Lemons – FRESH lemons – are amazing for cleaning. Grinding lemon rinds in the garbage disposer deodorizes it and rids those nasty smells. You can also put a cut up lemon in a jar of vinegar and let it sit for about a week to infuse. Then strain and stick in a spray bottle with for a great all-purpose (and 100% natural) cleaner. Lemon juice makes a great astringent (but warning, it stings!).
